This gorgeous dress is, by far, the best broke girl find I have purchased to date. I purchased this brand new ABS by Allen Schwartz gown off of eBay with the Lord & Taylor tag still attached, priced at $530. I bid on it, and won it for $29. Yes, seriously. The front is identical to the dress I wore in our engagement photos, and it’s a size 8, but I will get it altered for about $20.
Since Matt & I will be getting married in France, I will most likely wear this gown to city hall when we’re legally married in the states. In the end after alterations I will have spent about $50 on a $530 dress. Jackpot.
Check out this eBay seller who I purchased it from, they have a ridiculous amount of items to sort through, but it’s well worth it when you score this big.

My new favorite clutch/messenger bag found at Target for $19.99. Two thumbs up for this BrokeGirl find. I also snagged these trousers from LOFT for $22 marked down from $70. They’re having an additional 50% off of sale promotion this weekend, so hit it up!
Obviously, all I will have on my mind as of this summer is our wedding, and I wanted to share my inspiration board with you all. We are planning to have a very small wedding at a chateau in France… preferably this one if we can figure out where to cut costs to make it possible! Keep your fingers crossed for us xoxo
We’re so close to winning a free large print of one of our engagement photos with Ben & Les Photography. Want to help a fellow BrokeGirl out? Please go to their Facebook page and like it for us. We just need 50 people to do so. Message me if you do, I’d love to say thank you.

Matt and and I had our engagement photos done on Sunday by Ben & Les Photography, and it was such a romantic experience that I will forever cherish. Not only are Ben and Les incredibly talented visionaries, they are also some of the most genuine and kind-hearted people we have ever met. We’re looking forward to having them join us and photograph our wedding next summer, and to a new friendship! In case you missed my last post, in these photos I’m wearing:
- an A.B.S. Silk Draped Gown purchased from RueLaLa.com for $130 from $380
- Forever21 Antique Jeweled Earrings for $5
- Di Nuccio Gold Stilettos borrowed from my mama
Please help a BrokeGirl out and like their Facebook page! If we help their page get 50 additional likes, we’ll receive a large free print of any photo we choose. If we do it, which photo should we choose?
xoxo
My fiance and I had the most incredible engagement photo shoot with Ben & Les Photography today in Ashville, Ohio. I can’t wait to share our photos with you! In this photo, I’m wearing an ABS dress from RueLaLa purchased for $130 from $380, Forever21 chandelier earrings, and my mama’s gold stilettos.
I’m on a printed trousers kick, and here are some of my favorite spring pieces from previous posts compiled into one “broke girl friendly” look for spring, that is, if you’re still bombarded with bipolar weather like me when a jacket is still needed every other day.
- H&M jean jacket
- Forever 21 bib necklace
- H&M trousers
- Forever 21 cut out top
- Zara studded heels

Hi there! Any recommendations on where I can find some decent leather (faux) skinny pants? Seems like everything out there is some kind of legging, and I'm wanting some that are more like pants- have pockets, longer and thicker than some of the leather leggings I am seeing out there.
Hello! Forever21 has a pair of leather cigarette pants for $22.80 on their website. Other faux leather pants I found were $75 and up, and I think these are a pretty decent “broke-girl” alternative. xoxo.

I was too excited about this purchase not to share it with you all. Despite the fact that it’s still freezing outside, I bought this swim suit for $30 from H&M this weekend because I couldn’t be looking more forward to summer. This is beginning to feel like the longest winter…ever.
For those of you on a shoe hunt like me for versatile, warmer weather kicks, I’ve compiled a list of my spring favorites that are broke girl friendly. Check it out. xoxo, Kristie

I’m not really sure why I’ve been MIA, but maybe it has something to do with the fact that most of my outfits lately have only included workout apparel since its crunch time. I’ll be in Montreal and Boston this weekend, so I’ll be spending lots of time on the road. At least my man is accompanying me, and I get to stop and see my niece on the way. Here I’m wearing:
- Charlotte Russe trousers
- Gap silk blouse*
- Jessica Simpson fish scale wedges from Marshalls
- Forever21 tweed moto jacket
Happy Wednesday, xoxo
