We’re so close to winning a free large print of one of our engagement photos with Ben & Les Photography. Want to help a fellow BrokeGirl out? Please go to their Facebook page and like it for us. We just need 50 people to do so. Message me if you do, I’d love to say thank you.

Matt and and I had our engagement photos done on Sunday by Ben & Les Photography, and it was such a romantic experience that I will forever cherish. Not only are Ben and Les incredibly talented visionaries, they are also some of the most genuine and kind-hearted people we have ever met. We’re looking forward to having them join us and photograph our wedding next summer, and to a new friendship! In case you missed my last post, in these photos I’m wearing:
- an A.B.S. Silk Draped Gown purchased from RueLaLa.com for $130 from $380
- Forever21 Antique Jeweled Earrings for $5
- Di Nuccio Gold Stilettos borrowed from my mama
Please help a BrokeGirl out and like their Facebook page! If we help their page get 50 additional likes, we’ll receive a large free print of any photo we choose. If we do it, which photo should we choose?
xoxo
I’m on a printed trousers kick, and here are some of my favorite spring pieces from previous posts compiled into one “broke girl friendly” look for spring, that is, if you’re still bombarded with bipolar weather like me when a jacket is still needed every other day.
- H&M jean jacket
- Forever 21 bib necklace
- H&M trousers
- Forever 21 cut out top
- Zara studded heels
If you’re broke like me and will never, ever own this Cartier Love Bracelet, that’s okay. I stumbled across these “inspired by Carter”, (*cough* knock off) stainless steel bracelets from LaCoquetteBoutique on Etsy that I’ve deemed to be a great broke-girl-friendly alternative. What’s even more exciting is that they come with a lil’ screwdriver too. This is the closest I’ll ever get to the real thing. Happy shopping, xoxo
Here’s something I wore earlier this week, and here’s the breakdown:
- H&M jeans (DIY studs)
- a Rory Becca for Forever21 peplum blouse
- a gray & gold polka dot peplum sweater from Marshalls
- Forever21 sneaker wedges
If you’ve been refusing to brave the weather lately, and want a little DIY project to do, head over to eBay and order a bag of studs. I recommend studs with at least 4 prongs; they will be more secure. Here’s some inspiration, the possibilities are endless. Happy studding. xoxo.

- Monki white sleeveless top, $40
- Mango studded tweed jacket, $48
- ASOS skinny oxblood jeans, $49.25
- Topshop flat studded shoes, $64
- Patricia Field Snap back “Vogue” hat, $36
Cold weather calls for playing with rich textures. In this look’s case, I say the more the merrier. It’s got just a little bit of everything I’ve been crazy about this season. xoxo, Kristie

Today has been a pretty productive day. I took ballet class this morning, went to the gym, and did some pilates. I’m also starting to brush up on my French, and for those of you who are interested in learning a new language, duolingo.com is such an incredible and ABSOLUTELY FREE resource to take advantage of. My broke ass can’t afford Rosetta Stone, so I was pretty thrilled when I stumbled across their site. I’ll be heading out later to dinner and drinks with a friend wearing this ensemble:
- Forever21 Burnt Red Open Blazer: $29.80
- Marshalls Sheer Skull Button-Up: $16.00
- American Apparel Skirt: $28.00
- Michael Kors Suede & Leather Contrast Pumps
xoxo
Last night we went to dinner with some friends, and here’s a look at what I wore:
- Forever21 Tweed Moto Jacket: $29
- Forever21 Essentials Top: $3.49
- Charlotte Russe Harem Pants: $20
- Tahari from TJ Maxx Flats: $40
It’s been a lazy Saturday morning, and I’m about to get my butt to the gym for my daily workout. I’m going out to dinner with my man tonight, then going to see the Bodies Exhibit in Columbus wearing this navy + gold look that cost me about $110. Here’s the breakdown:
- H&M Blazer: $34.95
- Gray skinnies from TJ Maxx: $10
- Forever21 Creme & Gold Knitted Sweater: $19.80
- PacSun Creme & Gold Sequin Tank: $6
- Steve Madden Leopard Loafers from Marshalls: $40

I was digging through my closet today, and found these leopard skinnies that I’ve sorely neglected this year. I purchased them from Ross in 2009 for $5… it was an exciting moment. I thought I would show them a little love today, and here’s how I paired them. (Oh, and here’s how I paired them the last time I wore them.)
It’s date night, and I’m going to the movies in some leather, a gold painted sweater, and leopard loafers.
There’s something about an embellished “Peeta” (since I can’t say or think of Peter without thinking “Peeeeetaaaaaa”, and I would say forgive the Hunger Games reference, but…I’m not sorry) Pan Collared blouse that gets me going. Take for example this fabulous item on NastyGal for $38, although I will say that I found a very suitable & BrokeGirl-friendly alternative at Marshalls yesterday for $15. You’re welcome, that is, if you find it too. xoxo.
